Vanellus Max Drain 5W-30 is a synthetic diesel engine oil that offers outstanding protection and extended oil drain intervals under extreme operating conditions.

What is it for?

It is suitable for use in Euro 1, 2, 3 and Euro 4 engines that do not require a low SAPS oil; where a low SAPS oil is specified we recommend Vanellus Max Drain Eco.

Vanellus Max Drain 5W-30 is approved by European manufacturers for use at maximum oil drain intervals.

Industry specifications

The following ACEA specifications:

  • ACEA E4 for heavy duty vehicles fitted with EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation), SCR (Selective Catalyst Reduction) at extended drain intervals (Full SAPS).
  • ACEA E7 for most heavy duty vehicles fitted with EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation), SCR (Selective Catalyst Reduction)) for extended drain intervals (Full SAPS). ACEA E7 also covers the requirements of old ACEA E5 specification for most heavy duty vehicles fitted with EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation), SCR (Selective Catalyst Reduction) which is now obsolete.

Truck specifications

It is also approved against the following truck manufacturers specifications:

Mercedes Benz MB approval 228.5 for very long service intervals in truck engines produced in 1996 or later

MAN M3277, for truck engines that meet Euro 3 or older emission requirements. It can be used for other engine types where specified.

Volvo VDS 3, for extended drain intervals in Volvo engines that meet Euro 5, Euro 4 or Euro 3 emission requirements.

Renault RVI RXD, for extended drain intervals in Renault engines that meet Euro 5, Euro 4 or Euro 3 emission requirements.

Vanellus Max Drain 5W-30 also meets DAF extended drain requirements for engines that meet Euro 3 emission requirements.

Cleaner Pistons

OM 441 test evaluates performance of lubricants to prevent bore polishing, piston and turbocharger deposits in Euro II engines. At the end of the test pistons are rated by a professional rater who grades the level of deposits on the piston.

Corrosion Protection

OM602A test evaluates the performance of the lubricant in preventing cam wear, bore polishing and sludge formation under severe operating conditions. When deposits build up on the pistons this can result in stuck rings. This results in bore polish which is measured in this test.

Protects Even at Low Temperatures

The pour point test is an industry standard analytical test used to measure the lowest temperature at which a lubricant will flow. If oil flows at very low temperatures in the lab, the oil should protect the engine better at start up in cold conditions in the engine. This means the oil will reach engine components quicker and protect them from wear at start up.
